The Training and Placement (T&P) Cell of Thakur Shyamnarayan Engineering College (TSEC) plays a crucial role in preparing students for successful careers by aligning their technical knowledge, life skills, and aptitude with industry demands. The cell focuses on shaping students' career goals and ensuring their placement in top organizations through internships, apprenticeships, and campus recruitment opportunities.
It supports companies by organizing recruitment processes in online/offline modes and provides students with industry exposure to familiarize them with professional work culture. Training in aptitude, group discussions, technical skills, and HR interviews is offered through structured programmes like GEPT, SDP, ESD, ACT, CDT, CCP, and BCP, supplemented with mock activities and practice sessions.
As the Training and Placement Officer at Thakur Shyamnarayan Engineering College, my primary focus is to enhance the employability of our students by bridging the gap between academic learning and industry requirements. Through a combination of industry exposure, skill development, and strong placement support, we aim to prepare our students for successful careers. We offer opportunities for internships, final-year projects, and value-added services to ensure holistic growth. Additionally, fostering strong alumni and industry networks plays a crucial role in supporting students even after placement. Our ultimate goal is to equip students with the tools and resources to excel in the competitive global job market.
- Mr.Sudhir Thakre, Training & Placement Officer
The Training and Placement Cell (TPC) plays a pivotal role in guiding students toward successful career paths and bridging the gap between academic learning and professional requirements. This document outlines the comprehensive rules and guidelines for all students seeking support from the TPC.
This section outlines the purpose and role of the Training and Placement Cell.
The Training and Placement Cell serves as a facilitator between students and potential employers, aiming to enhance the employability of students through structured training, mentorship, and organized placement activities.
This section describes the procedure for student enrollment in the placement process. Eligible students are required to register with the Training and Placement Cell (TPC) using their enrolment number to take part in placement activities. Registration is generally available to final-year and pre-final-year students seeking placement opportunities. Students must ensure that all academic and personal information provided during registration is accurate.
This section describes the academic and behavioural standards required for participation.
Students must meet minimum CGPA, attendance (90%), and conduct requirements set by the institution or the visiting company. Those with backlogs or disciplinary issues may be deemed ineligible. Students are responsible for ensuring they meet each company’s specific eligibility before applying.
This section lays down expected behaviour during placement activities.
Students are expected to maintain discipline and professionalism at all times. Identity cards are mandatory, and a strict dress code must be followed. Misconduct, cheating, or falsification of documents will result in debarment from the placement process.
This section emphasizes the importance of skill-building initiatives. (Technical/non-technical)
All registered students must attend training programs, including aptitude tests, soft skills sessions, mock interviews, and resume workshops. These sessions are designed to prepare students for recruitment and may impact eligibility for specific companies.
This section explains the procedure for participating in recruitment drives.
Students are allowed to apply only to those companies where they fulfill the specified eligibility criteria. After registering for a company, withdrawal is not allowed unless prior permission is obtained from the TPC. Failure to attend the selection process after being shortlisted will result in disciplinary action, as decided by the TPC.
This section details the procedures for securing internship placements.
Students are responsible for selecting their own internship opportunities, and the Training and Placement Cell (TPC) is not obligated to provide internships. Those who secure internships independently must notify the TPC. All rules regarding behavior and the application process for internships are the same as those that apply to full-time job placements.
This section defines behaviors that can lead to disqualification.
Students will be debarred from the placement process for the following reasons:
This section defines the guidelines for communication and information sharing.
All interactions from students must be routed through the assigned TPC coordinator. Direct communication with company representatives is strictly not
allowed. Disclosing confidential information—such as interview questions, salary packages, or selection procedures—to unauthorized individuals will result in disciplinary action, as determined by the TPC.
This section explains how issues and exceptions are handled.
Grievances must be formally submitted to the TPC in writing. The Head of the Training and Placement Cell, and ultimately the Principal, will serve as the final authority on all placement-related matters.
“The Training and Placement Cell strives to connect students with the right opportunities and industry exposure; however, final placements also depend on individual efforts and performance.”
