Admission Rules & Procedure

Under Graduate Degree Programme in Engineering & Technology

Admissions in Undergraduate (UG) Engineering and Technology programmes are carried out in the institute as per the norms of the Admission Regulatory Authority (ARA), MH-CET Cell, Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra (GOM). The rules and regulations prescribed by the All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE), Government of Maharashtra, Directorate of Technical Education – Maharashtra State and the University of Mumbai are applicable. Admission is based on Eligibility criteria and respective entrance examination merit. All admission is made as per the schedule notified in leading newspapers and on the college's official website.

Candidature Type

Candidature Type

  • Maharashtra State Candidature-A Candidate can claim only one type of Maharashtra State Candidature Type i.e. from Type A to E.
Type Eligibility Criterion Home University

A

(a) For First Year: -

(i) (1) For Under Graduate, Integrated or Dual Degree courses.-Candidates passing SSC and HSC or 10+2 Examination or Diploma in Engineering or D. Voc. Examination from a recognized institution in the Maharashtra State ;

(ii) the candidate who is either domicile of Maharashtra and/or is born in the Maharashtra;

(b) For Direct Second Year: -

(i) (1) For Under Graduate course in Engineering and Technology.- Candidates passing SSC or HSC or 10+2 Examination and also Diploma in Engineering or Technology or Bachelor of Science or D. Voc. or its equivalent from a recognized Institution in the Maharashtra State;

Place of passing of Qualifying Examination falling within the jurisdiction of the respective University area.

 

Qualifying Examination from a recognized institution in the Maharashtra State;

(ii) Candidate who is either domicile of Maharashtra and/or born in Maharashtra.

 

B

A Candidate who does not fall in Type A above, but who or whose father or mother is domiciled in the State of Maharashtra and possesses domicile certificate.

Place of domicile Certificate issuing authority falling within the jurisdiction of the respective University area.

C

A Candidate who does not fall in either Type A or Type B but whose father or mother is an employee of the Government of India or Government of India Undertaking and who has been posted and reported to duty in the Maharashtra State before the last date for submitting the Application Form for Centralized Admission Process (CAP).

Place of posting of father or mother of candidate falling within the jurisdiction of the respective University area.

D

A Candidate who does not fall in any of the above Type A, Type B and Type C but whose father or mother is an employee or retired employee of the Government of Maharashtra or Government of Maharashtra Undertaking.

Place of posting of father or mother of Candidate or the place of settlement of the father or mother if retired or the place of last posting if deputed outside Maharashtra falling within the jurisdiction of the respective University area.

E

(a) For First Year: -

For Under Graduate, Integrated or Dual Degree courses.- Candidates passing SSC and HSC or 10+2 Examination or Diploma in Engineering or

D. Voc Examination from a recognized institution located in the Maharashtra Karnataka Border area or from the Maharashtra, residing in the Maharashtra Karnataka Border area and whose mother tongue is Marathi.;

Candidate shall be considered for the Outside Home University or State Level Seats.

 

(b) For Direct Second Year : -

For Under Graduate course in Engineering and Technology.- Candidates passing SSC or HSC or 10+2 Examination and also Diploma in Engineering or Technology or Bachelor of Science or D. Voc. or its equivalent from a recognized institution located in the Maharashtra Karnataka Border area or from the Maharashtra, residing in the Maharashtra Karnataka Border area and whose mother tongue is Marathi ;

Explanation- The Maharashtra Karnataka Border area includes the villages declared by the State Government for that purpose.

 
  • All India Candidature.-The candidates having Indian nationality are eligible under this
  • Minority Candidature.-The Maharashtra domiciled candidate belonging to a particular linguistic or religious minority community within the State and as notified by the Government are eligible under this Category.

Eligibility

(1) Maharashtra State Candidature Candidate.-

The candidate,-

(i) should be a citizen of India;

(ii) should have Passed 10+2 examination or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical Vocational subject or Computer Science or Information Technology or Informatics Practices or Agriculture or Engineering Graphics or Business Studies or Electronics or Entrepreneurship and obtained at least forty five per cent marks (at least forty per cent marks, in case of Reserved categories, Economically Weaker Section and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to the Maharashtra State only) in the above subjects taken together and The Candidate should have appeared in all the subjects in PCM MHT-CET 2025 and obtained non zero score in PCM MHT-CET 2025 conducted by the Competent Authority;

(There candidates are eligible to apply for all 29 major disciplines declared by AICTE)

or

(iii) Should have passed 10+2 examination or its equivalent examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with the Mathematics or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical Vocational subject or Computer Science or Information Technology or Informatics Practices or Agriculture or Engineering Graphics or Business Studies or Electronics or Entrepreneurship as one of the subject and obtained at least forty five per cent marks (at least forty per cent marks, in case of Reserved categories, Economically Weaker Section and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to the Maharashtra State only) in the above subjects taken together and the candidate should have appeared in all the subjects in MHT-CET 2025 and obtained non zero score in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) MHT-CET 2025 conducted by the Competent Authority is eligible for admission to any of the following Courses under major disciplines declared by concerned Appropriate Authority or All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), namely:-

(a) Agriculture Engineering;

(b) Biotechnology;

(c) Food Engineering;

(d) Leather Technology;

(e) Packaging Technology;

(f) Pharmaceutical Engineering; (g) Printing Engineering; (h) Fashion Technology; or

(i) Textile Chemistry;

or

(iv) Should have passed minimum three years Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at least forty five per cent marks (at least forty per cent marks, in case of Reserved categories, Economically Weaker Section and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to the Maharashtra State only) ;

or

(v) Passed three years Diploma of Vocation (D.Voc.) stream in the same or allied sector;

(2) All India Candidature Candidates, Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Union Territory of Ladakh Migrant Candidature Candidates.-

The candidate,-

(i) should be a citizen of India ;

(ii) should have passed 10+2 examination or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical Vocational subject or Computer Science or Information Technology or Informatics Practices or Agriculture or Engineering Graphics or Business Studies or Electronics or Entrepreneurship and obtained at least forty five per cent. marks (at least forty per cent. marks, in case of Reserved categories, Economically Weaker Section and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the above subjects taken together and obtained non zero positive score in Joint Entrance Test (JEE) (Main) Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) or The Candidate should have appeared in all the subjects in PCM MHT-CET 2025 and obtained non zero score in PCM MHT-CET 2025 conducted by the Competent Authority:

Provided that preference shall be given to the candidate obtaining non zero positive score in Joint Entrance Test (JEE) (Main) Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) over the candidates who obtained non zero score in PCM MHT-CET 2025;

(There candidates are eligible to apply for all 29 major disciplines declared by AICTE)

or

(iii) The candidate should have passed 10+2 examination or its equivalent examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with Mathematics or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical Vocational subject or Computer Science or Information Technology or Informatics Practices or Agriculture or Engineering Graphics or Business Studies or Electronics or Entrepreneurship and obtained at least forty five per cent. marks (at least forty per cent. marks, in case of Reserved categories, Economically Weaker Section and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the above subjects taken together and obtained non zero positive score in Joint Entrance Test (JEE) (Main) Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) or the candidate should have appeared in all the subjects in MHT-CET 2025 (PCM or PCB) and obtained non zero score in MHT-CET 2025 conducted by the Competent Authority is eligible for admissions to the Courses under following major disciplines declared by relevant Appropriate Authority or All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), namely:-

(a) Agriculture Engineering;

(b) Biotechnology;

(c) Food Engineering;

(d) Leather Technology;

(e) Packaging Technology;

(f) Pharmaceutical Engineering; (g) Printing Engineering; (h) Fashion Technology; or

(i) Textile Chemistry:

Provided that, preference shall be given to the candidate obtaining non zero positive score in Joint Entrance Test (JEE) (Main) Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) over the candidates who obtained non zero score in MHT-CET 2025;

or

(iv) The candidate should have passed minimum three years Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at least forty five per cent. marks (at least forty per cent. marks, in case of Reserved categories, Economically Weaker Section and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) ;

or

(v) Passed three years Diploma of Vocation (D.Voc.) Stream in the same or allied sector;

Allocation of Seats

The percentage of allocation of seats for various types of candidates in the Home University, Other than Home University and State Level shall be in accordance with the policy of the Government as specified in Schedule-I for First Year and Schedule –II for Direct Second Year of various Under Graduate Courses.

  • Maharashtra State Candidature Seats -The Candidates having Maharashtra State Candidature as specified in Candidature Type Point No. 1, shall be eligible for these seats.
  • All India Candidature Seats -The Candidates having Candidature as given in Candidature Type Point No. 2 shall be eligible for these seats.
  • Minority Quota Seats -The Candidates having Candidature mentioned in Candidature Type Point No. 3 shall be eligible for these seats as specified in Schedule-I and Schedule-II. These seats shall be filled in accordance with the provisions of sub-section (2) of section 6, of the Act.
  • Institutional Quota Seats -The Institution can admit Eligible Candidates as specified in Schedule-I and Schedule-II, subject to following conditions. -
    • The Candidates having Candidature mentioned in Candidature Type Point No. 1, 2, 3, 4 & 6 shall be eligible for these seats;

NOTE:- While filling these seats the preference shall be given to the Maharashtra State Candidature Candidates on the basis of Inter-Se-Merit.

Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme (TFWS) Seats

  • These seats shall be filled in by the Competent
  • The scheme shall be mandatory for all Technical Institutions offering undergraduate programs that are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education.
  • Seats up to maximum 5 percent of sanctioned intake per course shall be available.
  • The Candidates admitted under the scheme shall not be allowed to change Institution/course at any stage under any circumstances.

  10. Gap Certificate on stamp paper of Rs. 100/- duly notarized. (This is for those candidates who have passed HSC/12th Standard in any Last Academic Year or before and presently not studying in any course/institution)
  11. Caste Certificate for Backward class Candidates.
  12. Caste Validity Certificate for SC/ST/VJ/DT, (NT-A), (NT-B), (NT-C), (NT-D)/OBC/SBC/SEBC.
  13. Non Creamy Layer (This certificate should be valid upto 31st March 2026) for VJ/DT, (NT-A), (NT-B), (NT-C), (NT-D)/OBC/SBC/SEBC.
  14. Students admitted under the Hindi Linguistic Minority quota must submit a duly signed declaration proforma 'O' if 'Mother Tongue: Hindi' is not mentioned in their 12th Leaving Certificate.
  15. Physical Fitness Certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner.
  16. AICTE anti-ragging undertaking by students as well as parents on Rs. 100 Non Judicial stamp paper, should be Notarized (Format to be collected from Admin Office. Students & Parents also need to fill ONLINE at: www.amanmovement.org OR www.antiragging.in and printout to be submitted in Admin Office.
  17. Aadhar Card of Student.

Conduct & Descipline

General Instructions

  • The reporting time for college is 9 A.M.
    • Instructional Timing is from 9.15 A.M. to 5.15 P.M. from Monday to Friday.
    • Academic load compensation & practice Session may be arranged on Saturday / holidays.
  • Students should be regular and punctual for theory and practical sessions
  •  Minimum 75% attendance in each passing head is mandatory for term grant.
  • Attendance for participation/ conduct in extra and co-curricular activities will be granted as per institute norms.
  • In case of leave due to emergency or medical reasons application should be addressed to the Principal for the  leave-grant through HOD.
  • The college website should be visited regularly.
  • Assignments / Journal writing / Practical should be completed as per the schedule.
  • All important dates provided by examination section should be met without fail.
  • Cell phones are not allowed within the academic boundaries.
  • All facilities and amenities should be used judiciously.
  • Any illegal activity within the college premises is strictly prohibited.
  • Wearing ID-card in college campus is compulsory.
  • Formal dress code should be maintained (half -pants, capris, sleeveless T-shirts are not allowed).
  • Discipline and decorum should be maintained within the college premises.
  • Consumption of alcohol, tobacco, drugs, cigarette, smoking are prohibited in the institute campus. General awareness programs are conducted on regular basis.

Facilities

  • We have provided infrastructure facilities which is required for Handicap Students.
  • Fire safety major has been followed as per AICTE norms, fire extinguisher have been installed on each floor and appropriate training has been given to staff.

Note

Apart from above mentioned rules other guidelines may be provided as and when required.

Reference : GR No. DTEA-2011/(82/11)/TE-5 Dated:11/05/2011 of Higher & Technical Education Department

  1. Failure of the candidate in making full and correct Statements in the application form and/or suppression of any information and/or submission of false documents shall lead to disqualification of the candidate for admission. Such a candidate will be debarred from the entire admission process. Therefore the candidate is required to make only such claims which could be substantiated by relevant original documents.
  2. The students while studying in any college, if found indulging in anti-national activities contrary to the provisions of Acts and Laws enforced by Government or in any activity contrary to rules of discipline, will be liable to be expelled from the college without any notice by the Principal of the college.
  3. Not withstanding anything contained in these Rules, if the Govt. takes any policy decision pertaining to Degree admissions, then the same shall be brought in to effect at that point of time as per the directives from the Govt. from time to time.
  4. Any issue not dealt here-in above will be dealt with, when arising, fully and finally by the Competent Authority.
  5. If any of the statement made in application form or any information supplied by the candidate in connection with his or her admission is later on at any time, found to be false or incorrect, his or her admission will be cancelled, fees forfeited and he or she may be expelled from the college by the Principal. An appeal against the order of expulsion, however, may be preferred within 7 days to the Director of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, Mumbai, whose decision in such cases will be final.

Anti Ragging

Maharashtra Prohibition of Ragging Act 1999 and Prevention and Prohibition of Ragging (Appendix 12 published in AICTE Approval Process Handbook) and their amendments which may be published from time to time. The Maharashtra Prohibition of Ragging Act 1999 is in effect from 15th May 1999 has the following provisions for Action against Ragging.

  1. Ragging within or outside of any educational institution is prohibited.
  2. Whosoever directly or indirectly commits, participates in abets, or propagates ragging within or outside any educational institution shall, on conviction, be punished with imprisonment for a term up to 2 years and / or penalty, which may extend to ten thousand rupees.
  3. Any student convicted of an offence of ragging shall be dismissed from the educational institution and such student shall not be admitted in any other educational institution for a period of five years from the date of order of such dismissal.
  4. Whenever any students or, as the case may be, the parents or guardian or a teacher of an educational institution complaints, in writing, of ragging to the head of the educational institution, the head of the educational institution shall, without prejudice to the foregoing provisions, within seven days of the receipt of the complaint, enquire into the matter mentioned in the complaint and if, prima facie, it is found true, suspend the student who is accused of the offence, and shall, immediately forward the complaint to the police station having jurisdiction over the area in which the educational institution is located, for further action. Where, on enquiry by the head of the educational institution, it is found that prima facie, there is no substance, in the complaint received; he/she shall intimate the fact, in writing, to the complainant. The decision of the head of the educational institution shall be final.
  5. If the head of the educational institution fails or neglects to act in the manner specified in section β€œd” above when a complaint of ragging is made, such person shall be deemed to have abetted the offence and shall, on conviction, be punished as provided for in section β€œb” above.
  6. Undertaking from the candidate shall be taken while admitting the candidate in the Institute. Any Acts or its amendments which may be published from time to time by AICTE, Government or Judgements by Hon supreme Court of India, Hon. High court of Bombay etc. will be applicable to Candidates and Institutions covered under these rules of admission. If any of the statement made in application form or any information supplied or any certificate(s) submitted by the candidate in connection with his or her admission is later on at any time, found to be false or incorrect, his or her admission will be cancelled, fees forfeited and he or she may be expelled from the college by the Principal/Director. An appeal against the order of expulsion, however may be sent within 7 days to the Director of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, Mumbai, whose decision in such cases will be final. Such candidates are also liable for penal action as per the provisions in the law.

The decision of the head of the educational institution shall be final. 

e.

If the head of the educational institution fails or neglects to act in the manner specified in section “d” above when a complaint of ragging is made, such person shall be deemed to have abetted the offence and shall, on conviction, be punished as provided for in section “b” above.

f.

Undertaking from the candidate shall be taken while admitting the candidate in the Institute. Any Acts or its amendments which may be published from time to time by AICTE, Government or Judgements by Hon supreme Court of India, Hon. High court of Bombay etc. will be applicable to Candidates and Institutions covered under these rules of admission.

If any of the statement made in application form or any information supplied or any certificate(s) submitted by the candidate in connection with his or her admission is later on at any time, found to be false or incorrect, his or her admission will be cancelled, fees forfeited and he or she may be expelled from the college by the Principal/Director. An appeal against the order of expulsion, however may be sent within 7 days to the Director of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, Mumbai, whose decision in such cases will be final. Such candidates are also liable for penal action as per the provisions in the law.

 

As per the Appendix 12 of the AICTE Approval process hand book “Prevention and Prohibition of Ragging” is given below:

In view of the directions of the Honorable Supreme Court in SLP No. 24295 of 2006 dated 16-05-2007 and in Civil Appeal number 887 of 2009, dated 08-05-2009 to prohibit, prevent and eliminate the scourge of ragging including any conduct by any student or students whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student, or indulging in rowdy or undisciplined activities by any student or students which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in any fresher or any other student or asking any student to do any act which such student will not in the ordinary course do and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame, or torment or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of such fresher or any other student, with or without an intent to derive a sadistic pleasure or showing off power, authority or superiority by a student over any fresher or any other student, in all higher education institutions in the country, and thereby, to provide for the healthy development, physically and psychologically, of all students,

What Constitutes Ragging

Ragging constitutes one or more of any of the following acts:

1.

Any conduct by any student or students whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student;

2.

Indulging in rowdy or undisciplined activities by any student or students which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship, physical or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in any fresher or any other student;

3.

Asking any student to do any act which such student will not in the ordinary course do and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame, or torment or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of such fresher or any other student;

4.

Any act by a senior student that prevents, disrupts or disturbs the regular academic activity of any other student or a fresher;

5.

Exploiting the services of a fresher or any other student for completing the academic tasks assigned to an individual or a group of students.

6.

Any act of financial extortion or forceful expenditure burden put on a fresher or any other student by students;

7.

Any act of physical abuse including all variants of it: sexual abuse, homosexual assaults, stripping, forcing obscene and lewd acts, gestures, causing bodily harm or any other danger to health or person;

8.

Any act or abuse by spoken words, emails, posts, public insults which would also include deriving perverted pleasure, vicarious or sadistic thrill from actively or passively participating in the discomfiture to fresher or any other student;

9.

Any act that affects the mental health and self-confidence of a fresher or any other student with or without an intent to derive a sadistic pleasure or showing off power, authority or superiority by a student over any fresher or any other student.

Actions to be taken against students for indulging and abetting ragging in technical institutions:

1.

The punishment to be meted out to the persons indulged in ragging has to be exemplary and justifiably harsh to act as a deterrent against recurrence of such incidents.

2.

Every single incident of ragging a First Information Report (FIR) must be filed without exception by the institutional authorities with the local police authorities.

3.

The Anti-Ragging Committee of the institution shall take an appropriate decision, with regard to punishment or otherwise, depending on the facts of each incident of ragging and nature and gravity of the incident of ragging.

4.

Depending upon the nature and gravity of the offence as established the possible punishments for those found guilty of ragging at the institution level shall be any one or any combination of the following,

 

a)

Cancellation of admission

 

b)

Suspension from attending classes

 

c)

Withholding/withdrawing scholarship/fellowship and other benefits

 

d)

Debarring from appearing in any test/examination or other evaluation process

 

e)

Withholding results

 

f)

Debarring from representing the institution in any regional, national or international meet, tournament, youth festival, etc.

 

g)

Suspension/expulsion from the hostel

 

h)

Rustication from the institution for period ranging from 1 to 4 semesters

 

i)

Expulsion from the institution and consequent debarring from admission to any other institution.

 

j)

Collective punishment: when the persons committing or abetting the crime of ragging are not identified, the institution shall resort to collective punishment as a deterrent to ensure community pressure on the potential raggers.
