NTF Committee
As per the AICTE Circular No. AICTE/SAG/MoE/VIP/2025 dtd. 05-12-2025, from Member Secretary, AICTE regarding the NTF COMMITTEE (National Task Force on Student Mental Health and Suicide Prevention) for Academic Year 2025-26 is constituted by the Supreme Court of India in March 2025, this NTF's primary mandate is to address the crisis of student suicides and mental health in higher educational institutions (HEIs) for the students.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Identify Causes: Examine major causes of student suicides, including academic pressure, discrimination, ragging, financial stress, and mental health stigma.
- Examine Shortcomings: Investigate systemic and institutional shortcomings that impact student well-being.
- Collect Data: Gather diverse perspectives and data from stakeholders (students, faculty, parents, mental health professionals, Higher Education Institutions) through surveys and field visits.
- Formulate Recommendations: Prepare a comprehensive report with concrete, actionable measures to improve support systems, including policy suggestions for a uniform national mental health policy in all Higher Education Institutions.
- Monitor Implementation: Monitor the activities related to student well-being initiatives and provide guidelines to institutions for implementing support systems like mandatory counsellors and helplines.
